Common Toilet Problems We Fix

1. Running Toilet

A flapper, fill valve, or float issue wastes thousands of gallons of water each month and drives up your water bill.

2. Toilet Leaking at Base

Usually a failed wax ring or cracked flange. Needs prompt repair to prevent subfloor water damage.

3. Weak or Incomplete Flush

Clogged rim holes, failing flush valve, or low water level in the tank. Often fixable without replacement.

4. Toilet Won't Flush

It could be a broken handle chain, a failed flapper, or a blockage in the trap. We diagnose before assuming the worst.

5. Phantom Flushing

Toilet cycles on its own, classic sign of a deteriorated flapper that no longer seals the tank.

6. Cracked Tank or Bowl

Hairline cracks lead to slow leaks or sudden failure. Replacement is the only permanent solution.

Toilet Repair & Replacement in Smyrna

Dalmatian Plumbing has been serving Smyrna homeowners for over 25 years. Smyrna's rapid growth has brought new construction alongside older bungalows and ranch homes near the Village Green, two very different toilet profiles that our plumbers handle every week.

From the Village Green area to older neighborhoods off Concord Road, we know the homes in this area and the plumbing challenges they present. Older Smyrna bungalows commonly have cast-iron supply lines and aging wax seals. Catching a toilet leak at the base early prevents the subfloor damage we see in neglected repairs. When you call Dalmatian Plumbing, you get local plumbers who understand Smyrna and take pride in serving this community.

Diagnose & Fix

Test & Guarantee

After repair or installation, we test the toilet through multiple flush cycles and check for leaks at the base and supply connection. We don't leave until everything works correctly, backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Toilet Repair and Toilet Installation: Both Done Right

Not every toilet problem calls for a replacement, and not every old toilet is worth saving. Our plumbers give you an honest assessment both ways.

Toilet Repair

We repair running toilets, base leaks, weak or phantom flushes, fill valve and flapper failures, handle and chain issues, and supply line problems throughout Smyrna and Cobb County. Most repairs are completed in one visit with parts already on the truck.

Toilet Installation

Whether you're replacing an older fixture in a Smyrna bungalow near Concord Road, upgrading to a comfort-height model, or installing as part of a bathroom remodel, we handle the full installation, removal, flange inspection, new wax ring, fixture setting, and final testing.

Jim(Technician) was awesome. Thoroughly explained the diagnosis and steps needed. After completing the repair Jim was able to explain the root cause of the issue. Review Below: Timeliness: Showed up within 5 minutes of quotes time. Efficiency: Drywall was only removed where necessary to make the repair. Kudos to Jim's experience here! Price: Who is ever happy with what it cost to get something fixed? But to be honest, I'm happy and see the value in the spend. Value: Explained the root cause of the issue and provided the solution in a timely manner with a friendly disposition. Will be utilizing Dalmation for my future plumbing needs.

Water heater decided to call it quits after 22 years. Water pressure on hot side dropped to nothing and brown sediment started coming out of the hot side lines. Called Dalmation Plumbing first thing in the morning and they had Jim come out at 8:30am -- fast response. Jim replaced the water heater and expansion tank. In addition he also helped replace a leaking hose bibb and our water pressure regulator (PSI over 100). Jim was great and very knowledgeable. Would hire him again! Pricing was reasonable but on the higher side of the average range (based on Google Gemini cost comparison). But for an urgent service call and fast response, you can't ask for more! Will definitely use Dalmation Plumbing again in the future.

Excellent experience from start to finish. They were professional, responsive, and transparent throughout the process. I needed to replace an older leaking water heater, and they took the time to evaluate everything on site, explain my options clearly, and answer all of my questions. I was out of town while trying to coordinate the project, and they were very accommodating with scheduling. They worked with my timeline and fit the installation in between two trips, which I really appreciated. The installation, done by Jim, was smooth and very well done. He upgraded me to a 50-gallon Bradford White unit at the same quoted price, installed a new expansion tank, shutoff valve, and pan, and handled the permit process as well. The workmanship was clean and professional, and the final result looks great. I also appreciated how respectful and easy to work with they were throughout the whole job. Highly recommend if you’re looking for honest, knowledgeable plumbers who do quality work and provide excellent customer service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q How do I know if my toilet needs repair or full replacement?

A

If you're dealing with a single mechanical issue, a running toilet, a faulty fill valve, or a bad wax ring, repair is usually the right call. If the toilet is 20+ years old, has a cracked tank or bowl, clogs repeatedly after clearing, or needs frequent repairs, replacement typically makes more sense in the long term. Our plumbers assess both options and give you a straight recommendation.

Q What are the most common toilet problems you see in Smyrna homes?

A
Running toilets and wax ring failures are the most frequent calls we get in Smyrna. Running toilets are almost always a flapper or fill valve issue, straightforward repairs. Wax ring failures here can be more complex, depending on the age of the floor flange and whether the subfloor has sustained moisture damage.

Q Can you replace my toilet the same day you diagnose it?

A

In most cases, yes. Our trucks are fully stocked with common replacement parts and carry standard toilet models for same-day swaps. If you want a specific fixture or model not on the truck, we will schedule a return visit as quickly as possible.

Q Do you handle toilet installation for new construction or remodels?

A
Yes, we handle toilet installations for both new-construction rough-ins and remodel projects. If you're updating a bathroom, we can coordinate around tilework and vanity installations to set the toilet at the right stage of the project.
